Ecoplexus Japan Announces the Start of 27 MW of Projects

San Francisco, February 5, 2018 – Ecoplexus Inc., a leading global developer of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, announced today that it has commenced construction on 27 MWs of additional solar energy centers in Japan. The Iwate-Yamada and Yamanashi-Narusawa represent a combined investment of more than $85 million. These facilities will be interconnected into the Tohoku Electric and Tokyo Electric grids respectively, significantly expanding the country’s clean energy portfolio.

Both projects will be owned by the utilities with Ecoplexus providing ongoing asset management and operations and maintenance services for all the facilities. These projects will provide 50 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity annually. That is enough to power 5,200 homes and prevent the carbon dioxide emission of roughly 4 million gallons of gasoline, in effect taking 7,500 passenger vehicles off the road.
