The facility, which utilizes a horizontal tracking system, will deliver over four million Kilowatt hours per year to PG&Es grid. The project received a conditional use permit from Tuolomne County and was constructed with local California labor. Ecoplexus is proud to have worked with the County, Pacific Gas & Electric of California, California State Agencies, and others are this successful project.
Xcel Energy and The City of Grand Junction
The project will take advantage of the excellent solar resources in the area. The solar facility will be built under Xcel Energy’s Solar Rewards Community program. Ecoplexus is working with The City of Grand Junction to build the facility on 19 acres of land owned by the City. The City of Grand Junction, along with other municipal, school district and low income entitites, will be subscribers for the power generated by the facility. The community solar array will be 2MWs in size and be directly interconnected to Xcel’s grid in front of the facility. It will provide power and savings, in the form of bill credits for all subscribers to the solar garden. Ecoplexus is excited to be working with Xcel Energy and The City of Grand Junction in an effort to acheive their goals for cleaner energy. Xcel energy awarded the project to Ecoplexus in a competitive tender RFP.
Ecoplexus announces the opening of its Japanese subsidiary
Ecoplexus has been active in assessing the Japanese market and developing projects there since November of 2012. The company has been working with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) since that time. Ecoplexus Japan K.K. is currently developing over 30MWs of Mega Solar projects in various prefectures across Japan which will sell power under the Government’s Feed In Tariff scheme. Ecoplexus is excited to be the first foreign company to successfully work with JETRO to set up its Japanese operations and help the country with its push for more renewable energy in the wake of last years Fukushima disaster.
