Mission Housing – Largest Solar Virtual Net Metering Site in California

Ecoplexus today announced the start of construction on the second largest residential Multi Tenant solar project in the United States.Mission Housing’s award winning Valencia Gardens Community in San Francisco, CA will host the 700KW project.

The project will cover 19 buildings utilizing Canadian Solar panels and SMA inverters. It will be the largest “Virtual Net Metering” system under the California Solar Initiative, providing green electricity to all the tenants of the Community.

South Bayside Waste Management Authority

Ecoplexus and the South Bayside Waste Management Authority announce the completion of one of the largest solar projects for a Recycling and Resource Recovery Facility in the US.

The system which was mounted on the roofs of all the buildings at SBWMA’s Shoreway Environmental Center utilized UniRack racking, PV Powered Inverters and Canadian Solar panels.

The system will produce 45,000,000 kwhs of green energy over its life. It will offset 2 million pounds of Carbon Dioxide annually and will conserve the burning of 95,000 barrels of oil over the life of system.

Formed in 1982, the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (RethinkWaste) is a joint powers authority with twelve member agencies (the cities of Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos and San Mateo, the towns of Atherton and Hillsborough, the County of San Mateo and the West Bay Sanitary District) in San Mateo County and is a leader in innovative waste reduction and recycling programs.

City of Milpitas

The City of Milpitas has selected Ecoplexus to design, engineer, install, and finance solar PV systems at six City sites including City Hall, the Police Operations Center, Gibraltar Tanks, the Sewage Pump Station, and a City athletic facility. The projects total over 2 MW.

Under the agreement, Ecoplexus will provide solar generated electricity to the City under twenty (20) year Power Purchase Agreements (PPA). Over the course of the PPA, the City of Milpitas expects to save in excess of $4 million on energy bills.
