Ecoplexus and the South Bayside Waste Management Authority announce the completion of one of the largest solar projects for a Recycling and Resource Recovery Facility in the US.
The system which was mounted on the roofs of all the buildings at SBWMA’s Shoreway Environmental Center utilized UniRack racking, PV Powered Inverters and Canadian Solar panels.
The system will produce 45,000,000 kwhs of green energy over its life. It will offset 2 million pounds of Carbon Dioxide annually and will conserve the burning of 95,000 barrels of oil over the life of system.
Formed in 1982, the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (RethinkWaste) is a joint powers authority with twelve member agencies (the cities of Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos and San Mateo, the towns of Atherton and Hillsborough, the County of San Mateo and the West Bay Sanitary District) in San Mateo County and is a leader in innovative waste reduction and recycling programs.
